Hi everyone,
I am totally blind and 3 months pregnant now. It seems like it's hard to find blind parents in Quebec area so I decided to post something here. I'd love to chat with totally blind moms so they can share their experiences and advices with me. I am totally blind myself, that's why I'd prefere to chat with totally blind parents instead of visually impaired. I've been visually impaired before and it's not the same, believe me!!! hehe Totally blind dads are welcome too, although I admit I'd prefere moms so we could talk breastfeeding and all that womanish stuff. lol I can chat by mail or by phone. It'd be awesome, I'd practice my English. I could also reinstall Skype on my computer, although I am not sure about my microphone's quality. hehe So, I really hope to hear from you soon.
Take care and thanks in advance,
Audrey
I'm not a parent and but this list may be useful for you even though it's US focused.

Hey, I'm a totally blind mom. My partner in parenting and in life is actually also totally blind, so we're in the unique situation where both parents are totally blind.
IF you have facebook, we can chat on there; my name is Bernadetta Pracon so you can find me there by that name.
Or you can email me. Message me privately on here and I'll give you my phone number and email address. I don't feel comfortable giving it out on a public board.
Thanks a lot to both of you. Bernadeta, I'll write to you in private right now. :)
I'm just the dad's sister. But, being called a "Blind Aunt," is all right. LOL
Blessings,
Sarah
Hi Sarah!! haha And how is it to be a blind aunt? Does your brother let you take care of his kids? I mean, do you sometimes have them for the week end on your own or stuff like that?
I can't do much taking care of the kid. One's not here, yet, and the other's too much. See, I also have some other medical issues, and I can't lift much, or chase the 2-year-old much.
I did sitter for them for a time, when the oldest was still little enough for me to lift. However, since then, I've been diagnosed with Arthritis, and I drop medicine, since my hands are bad. The cat's smart enough to leave the pills alone. Babies, aren't that smart, and I don't want that on my guilt list.
However, my brother and his wife are both blind. They are fabulous parents! I'm anxious, since things are getting close to the littlest one being born.
I think if I watched the kids, I'd have to go to their place. Problem is, I can't crawl up and down stairs much, anymore.
I think since you've come out looking for support, you'll make a good mom. With babies, there are things any mom needs assistance with. Nothing wrong with that.
Blessings!
Hi Audrey I'm a totally blind mother and I have a 7 month old who is my 1st and only child. How many kids do you have? If you need any advice you can usually reach me on here through the private pqn or messaging system.
Hi Sarah,
Thanks a lot for your response and sorry for the delay. I am glad to see that your brother and his wife are blind too and that kids are still alive!! haha just kidding. I knew many blind parents, but not enough to really talk to them that much about their situation with kids. Anyway, thanks again!!
Hi Trisha!! Yaaaay!!! I write you right now in a private message!!
